WTF! Photoshop just randomly crashed, taking an almost completed icon with it that I've been working on for the last hour or so. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! (mood: ENRAGED, but hmmm I like that moodtheme pic...)
And I actually liked that icon. But right now I'm so frustrated I don't feel like rebuilding it, lol.

Fortunately I felt healthy enough on the 1st to drive out to the airport to see [info]comedychick and her family for a while at least. Of course the hour or so we got to spend was not nearly enough, and it was decided that we'll have to meet again at some point.

[general] long way
I'm completely addicted to facebook games. Especially School of Wizardry (zomg, it's like Hogwarts!) and Treasure Madness. Check them out! :D

If anyone has a moment to spare I'd appreciate votes for the fringe_lims final challenge.

I've added Flash Forward to my list of shows to watch. I marathoned all the eps so far about two weeks ago in two or three days, I was hooked right away. Like Heroes or Prison Break I think it's very much a show for one season only, but we'll see.
Does anyone of you watch it? I think Eve mentioned it once, but I don't remember anyone else.

At [info]dollhouse_lims I made it to the final challenge :D It's funny, last round I was doing so great until I got voted out in the top five, I think. This time I almost dropped out without entering a single challenge and never really got the feeling for the whole thing, but I got to the finals. Pretty sure I won't win, the voting is already up, but it's always good to get far.

I got rejected at [info]elite_fringe, which is not a big deal, but makes me a bit sad because I would really have liked to enter Fringe related challenges. My only community for that used to be fringe_lims, and I'm not entering anymore since I took over the comm.

No RL in this post because it's not going very great at the moment.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I'm the new mod over at [info]fringe_lims now :D
And pretty much the first thing I did was take care of the final challenge of the current round. Voting's up, but way too few people have voted so far, so if you have a moment

Please vote!

There are only two entries, so it won't take long. Thank you :)

Interview meme:

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five questions.
3. You will post the answers to the questions (and the questions themselves) in your journal.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions. This is the meme that never ends.

[info]vaguelyclear asked me the following:

1. What do you like most about Psychology?
2. Favourite colour?
3. If you had to learn another language, which would you choose and why?
4. What's an icon trend or technique that you absolutely hate?
5. Do you have a favourite painter or painting? If so, who/what is it?

answers here )

[info]comedychick asked me the following:

1. What was your favourite cartoon growing up?
2. If you could choose any animal for a pet and not worry about cost to look after it/whether it was dangerous and could kill you, what would you choose and why?
3. Do you collect anything? If so, what?
4. If a movie were to be made about your life, who would you want to play you and, presuming it is made later in your life and you've had/are in a long term relationship, who would you want to play your leading man?
5. If you won a prize of a holiday cruise and could take 5 people with you from anywhere in the world, where would you want the cruise to go, and who would you choose to take with you?

answers here )

[info]kutiechick asked me the following:

1. I read on your journal that you started playing tennis late -- what made you pick up that racket? It sounds like it's a huge passion of yours...what drew you to it?
2. You have a lot of kick-ass icons! If you could only use 5 of them, which would you pick/why?
3. If you had a night alone, all to yourself -- what would you do & what would you have for dinner?
4. If you could talk to the person you were 5 years ago, what advice would you give?
5. What is your dream job? Where are you living and what are you doing?

answers here )

I don't get comment notifications at the moment, it drives me nuts. Let me know in case I don't answer something you'd expect me to.

I took [info]sabsel to the German Museum in Munich yesterday, the biggest science and technology museum of the world. I had forgotten how much I adore that place. It's amazing! So much to look at and some of the exhibits are interactive, so you can actually do stuff. I could and probably did spend forever in the math section. It reminded me why I decided to study math four years ago. /geek

LOL, remember that I won session four at [info]ncis_lims? I got eliminated in round four of session five. Oops. I knew my entry was risky, but I still like it. Thoughts? Honest opinions?

I know some people prefer to take the safe way through a lims competition, entering with a style that has proven to be popular. I prefer trying new things. There's always the comeback round :D

Supernaturaaaaal 4x17 & 4x18 )

How can people who weren't even present at an event dare to take the right to judge others not only for their actions at said event, but as a human being in general? The presumption and insolence leave me at a loss for words, which is probably a good thing because I told myself I would not get involved since I understand both sides to a certain point.

  • H_E meet-up weekend in London
Click if you want to read, it's short and unorganized )

  • I am on board of the can't-get-proper-lj-notifications-train now. I don't get them for hours, and then all of a sudden I get like 20 in a row. Weird. And inconvenient. Still entertaining whenever I get a bunch. If you feel like I didn't answer something I should have answered, maybe just point me in that direction, it's possible that I don't even know about it.

  • Behind the cut, you'll find three icons I've made at various stages of my personal icon making history. Please help me out by taking a look at them and answering the question(s) below.
It will only take a minute or two... )

This post is going to be all over the place. You've been warned ;)

I got my second postcard from the h_e exchange. After [info]alliana07's lovely letter from Dumbledore, this time I got a picture of Remus Lupin and Dean Winchester, Remus all emo and Dean drinking coffee, presumably telling (bad) werewolf jokes, LOL. Thanks, [info]kittehkat, you rock :)
I get so ridiculously excited whenever I receive mail that is not advertisement or bills.
In case you started wondering, I haven't sent out any of your promised postcards yet. I'm getting to that when I finally have a minute or two.

Today after some six weeks working there, I finally got my electronic key thingy for work. Now I don't have to make the receptionist call someone from the risk management team to come get me every single time.
I might also get to keep all of my earned money instead of having to give up 20% for insurance/tax/whatever, since I'm still a student and don't earn a lot to begin with.
It more and more feels like work >> studying. I'm apparently less of a Ravenclaw than I always thought. It's just so satisfying to see results and to see some productivity. Still, I do geek out every time I'm taught something new about risk management or discover a new function of our nifty programs. It's not that I don't like learning, I just enjoy knowing I don't waste my time. Studying math seems like wasting a lot of time so often.

Have you ever been completely sick of an (icon) texture? To me it seems like every other SPN icon these days includes the same texture (tiny grey squares, presumably set to screen). I just hope people get sick of using it eventually, it's annoying me more than it should.

Except for the final episode I am done catching up with season 4 of CSI:NY. I'm an awesome fan like that ;) And yes, I know that season 5 started quite some time ago, I'll get to it eventually.
So what did we learn from season 4? (I won't cut it, but keep it non-specific, if you're still extremely afraid of spoilers after all this time, skip the next paragraph, please.)
The writers finally remembered that Danny is way too complex and interesting a character to be reduced to love-crazy boy at Lindsay's side. I loved his story during this season.
Mac can still win my heart. I'll never like Stella, but it's Lindsay who really gets on my nerves now. Hawkes is turning into Mr. Awesome from time to time, I just wish they'd give him some backstory, some episodes to grow as a character. Flack/Angell are a pairing even I could get into. (I know, shocking.) Sid is the secret star of this show. They are still going down what I call the "Miami road". Too much focus on the lead character, and I say this as a declared fan of Mac. Too many dramatic episodes involving the CSIs, instead of concentrating on strong, believable cases. It's my favourite season of seasons two, three, and four. Nothing will ever reach season one ;)

LIMSing is going surprisingly well so far, good results all around. I feel an icon post coming up, lol. I've been thinking about getting a comm to post them, to motivate me to post icons more often. It always feels weird to post them here, but I'm too lazy to either set up my own community or apply elsewhere. Hm, another thing for the list when I have some time to waste.

I changed my profile, using codes by [info]gossymer I've seen several of you use, too. There should be a header on top of the table, I think, but I'll have to think about what to put up there for a while.
Also, just for the record, I like the new userinfo page.

Hm, I think I'm done :P Like I said, all over the place.
